Light and Airy Wedding at the Renaissance
It was a perfect day for Alexis and Shaun’s springtime wedding at the Renaissance. Their ceremony on the elegant grand staircase was a lovely counterpoint to their light and airy wedding day.
Getting Ready
Some details include bound booklets with the couples’ vows, jewelry and invitations. I love that Alexis and Shaun used a photo from the engagement session on their save the date card!
There was plenty of sunshine in the suite providing a light and airy atmosphere as the ladies got ready.
Alexis made an impression on her bridesmaids.
All ready for the first look!

Just look at the smile on Shaun’s face as Alexis taps him on the shoulder during their first look.
The couple exchanged vows in private before their ceremony downstairs. Such a beautiful moment!
The little strip of park between Fort Duquesne Boulevard and the 10th Street bypass provides a little bit of nature in downtown Pittsburgh.
The ladies wore emerald green velvet dresses while the guys wore black tuxedos with green ties. A very classic look.
Ceremony on the Grand Staircase
The marble grand staircase in the lobby of the Renaissance is such a special spot. It’s just an amazing bit of architecture that is perfect for a wedding ceremony.
Shaun’s sister officiated the ceremony. She did a great job.

Light and Airy Wedding Reception in the Symphony Ballroom
Some detail photos in the Symphony Ballroom. I love the abundant natural light in that room.

First dance. What a great moment! (Lisa’s photo)
The maid of honor and best man’s speeches were funny and touching. It’s obvious that Alexis and Shaun are deeply loved.
I always keep my eyes open for storytelling moments during the parent’s dances and first dance. Alexis’ mom held her heart as she watched Alexis dance with her dad.

Dance Party!
The dance floor opened right after the cake cutting. It was packed all night!
We snuck away for a few portraits at sunset at the end of a perfect day.
