Fall Wedding at 7 Springs
Kaylene and Rafee had their beautiful fall wedding at 7 Springs. Nature and outdoor activities are important to the couple. Rafee grew up skiing in the Laurel Highlands east of Pittsburgh so 7 Springs was a natural choice. As you can see from the photo below, the fall colors were still in their glory.

Getting Ready

Kaylene and her bridesmaids got ready at the lodge. Her sister Kristen did a great job with makeup.

Meanwhile Rafee got ready over at the Slopeside Hotel. His dad Razzak helps with the bowtie.

Kaylene’s mom Ellen and her sister Annie help with the dress and veil.
Kaylene Has A First Look With Her Dad And A Private Moment With Rafee

Kaylene wanted to do a first look with her dad Doug. So I found a spot outside and put him into place. You’ve got to love moments like this.

A few details including some of Kaylene’s Polly Pocket dolls from when she was a kid.

Kaylene and Rafee didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony but they still wanted a moment. We found a convenient corner with some beautiful stonework for them to have their first touch. So sweet!
Bride And Bridesmaids

Some bridal portraits before heading off to the ceremony.

Kaylene and her entourage had a singalong in the van on the way to the ceremony site.
Outdoor Ceremony At Meadowoods

The bridesmaids and groomsmen lined up in the little shelter at the back of Meadowoods.

Rafee was moved to tears when he saw Kaylene walking down the aisle towards him.

The couple wrote their own vows but before that the guests were treated to the incredible story of their first date. I won’t go into the details but it included a helicopter rescue from a mountain!

Yay! They’re married!

A lovely private moment after the ceremony.

Making it official by signing the marriage certificate.

Kaylene’s grandmother Annawynn congratulates her after the wedding.

Some portraits in front of the barn doors. My dad jokes never miss!
Portraits At Helen’s

Kaylene and Rafee were hoping for fall color. I happened to be at 7 Springs for another shoot earlier in the week and took some time to scout. My usual favorite spots were pretty bare but the trees by Helen’s Restaurant were holding onto their leaves so we did portraits there.

It’s a great spot.
Grand Entrance To The Reception At Winterberry

Some details from the reception at Winterberry (Lisa’s photos). Note the themes of birds (fellow bird nerds!), mountain climbing and their cats. I just love to see those thoughtful personal touches.

The couple went right into their first dance after entering the reception. I love it so much when the couple does a dip and I’m in the right spot!
A Wonderful Evening Of Music And Dancing

Kaylene and Rafee were treated to an A capella performance during toasts.

Cutting the cake. Keeping things playful with the icing without getting really messy is a decision nobody regrets 🙂

The folks at Fireside Events kept the dance floor full for the whole evening.

Those moments when family and friends come together are a big part of what makes a wedding so special. The folks at this wedding live all over the place and so gathering together to celebrate was such a joy. I’m grateful to have been able to document such an important event for Kaylene and Rafee. I’ll share what they wrote to me after receiving their gallery: “Wow. Words cannot describe how wonderful and moving these photos are. We are in awe of the quality and content that you and Lisa were able to capture on our special day! We also really appreciated the calming presence you brought to our day — it was wonderful to have that grounding during such a whirlwind event.”
