St. Stan’s and Sheraton Station Square Wedding
Happy New Year!! 2010 was a great year, and fittingly it ended with a fantastic wedding. Just before New Years I got to photograph Amy and Jon’s St. Stan’s in the Strip District and Sheraton Station Square wedding.
We felt so welcome and happy to be a part of the day. Their families and friends were a lot of fun to be with, so it’s only natural that this blog post has a few more photos than usual. Enjoy!
Starting the Day at Mom and Dad’s Place
We started out at Amy’s parent’s house where Amy and the girls were already in the spirit.

Mikayla handed out the programs to the guests as they arrived at St. Stan’s.

St. Stan’s was still decorated for Christmas. The lights on the trees provided a wonderful, warm glow.
St. Stan’s is a combined parish with St. Patrick’s. Paintings of the two saints are at the back of the pews. Over the past several years the parish has put a lot of work into restoring the windows and the interior of the church. It was quite beautiful.

Blended Faith Traditions
Amy and Jon combined Catholic and Jewish traditions during their ceremony. Father Don did a great job explaining the meaning behind the breaking of the glass.

Portraits
We went out to Smallman St. for a couple of quick portraits as the sun set over the city. Everybody loves a young couple on their wedding day, and they were greeted by honking car horns.
Back inside Amy showed off her wedding band.
The reception was at the Sheraton Station Square, so we walked over to Bessemer Court for a few portraits before dinner.

While I was photographing the guests dancing Jon came up to me and said, “Be ready when Billie Jean comes on.” Little did I know that he would return as the King of Pop!
It’s one thing to get dressed up, but Jon had Michael Jackson’s dance moves down cold!
