It’s been a while since the last time I posted, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy. I’ve had some portrait sessions that were a lot of fun – which I’ll be posting about soon-ish – as well as some commercial and editorial jobs which have kept things interesting. Spring, summer and fall are busy times for weddings so it’s during the winter months that I’m able to catch up on things like album design, freshening up my website and other materials. I’ve also got a photo booth that I’m pretty excited about offering this year.
I also took a little time to recharge my batteries after the holidays. Even though I’ve been a photographer for a long time and I went to school to learn my trade, I feel it’s important to always push myself to improve my photography. So I took a few days and went to Washington D.C. to sharpen my portrait lighting skills in a workshop taught by my friend JVS.
It’s a hands-on workshop and I was fortunate to be paired up with a photographer from Virginia, the lovely Kristen Gardner. I definitely got the better end of that deal, since she had to work with me as her model:)
