Fall Wedding at 7 Springs

Kaylene and Rafee had their beautiful fall wedding at 7 Springs. Nature and outdoor activities are important to the couple. Rafee grew up skiing in the Laurel Highlands east of Pittsburgh so 7 Springs was a natural choice. As you can see from the photo below, the fall colors were still in their glory.

Getting Ready

A makeup artist applies lipstick to a smiling woman while another woman looks on closely, all in a well-lit room. The atmosphere appears friendly and focused.

Kaylene and her bridesmaids got ready at the lodge. Her sister Kristen did a great job with makeup.

Two women in floral robes face each other, smiling and holding each other’s arms in a warmly lit room. In the background, a mirror reflects another smiling woman also wearing a robe. The setting appears joyful and intimate.

Two side-by-side photos show a groom getting ready. On the left, a man helps him with a boutonnière. On the right, an older man adjusts the grooms bowtie. All are dressed in formal black suits.

Meanwhile Rafee got ready over at the Slopeside Hotel. His dad Razzak helps with the bowtie.

Kaylene Has A First Look With Her Dad And A Private Moment With Rafee

A bride in a white dress shares an emotional first look and warm hug with her father, who is wearing a black suit, outdoors by a wooden railing and stone structure.

Kaylene wanted to do a first look with her dad Doug. So I found a spot outside and put him into place. You’ve got to love moments like this.

A triptych image: a white wedding dress hangs on a stone wall, two dolls and flowers rest on a table, and a pair of sparkly flat shoes with a pearl necklace are arranged on stone.

A few details including some of Kaylene’s Polly Pocket dolls from when she was a kid.

A bride and groom stand on opposite sides of a stone wall, holding hands around the corner without seeing each other, both smiling and dressed in wedding attire. A bride in a white gown and a groom in a black suit stand on opposite sides of a stone wall, holding hands and smiling joyfully, sharing a playful, loving moment before their wedding ceremony.

Kaylene and Rafee didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony but they still wanted a moment. We found a convenient corner with some beautiful stonework for them to have their first touch. So sweet!

Bride And Bridesmaids

Some bridal portraits before heading off to the ceremony.

Six women stand outdoors on grass. Five bridesmaids wear matching burgundy dresses and hold bouquets, while one bride in a white gown stands at the front, also holding a bouquet. Autumn leaves are scattered on the ground.

A group of people, including a smiling bride holding flowers, sit inside a van. The scene is candid and cheerful, with natural light coming through the front windshield.

Kaylene and her entourage had a singalong in the van on the way to the ceremony site.

Outdoor Ceremony At Meadowoods

A wedding party stands outdoors. The bride in a black cloak and white dress holds a bouquet and smiles at the groom, who wears a black tuxedo. Bridesmaids in burgundy dresses and a groomsman in a tuxedo hold colorful bouquets.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen lined up in the little shelter at the back of Meadowoods.

Rafee was moved to tears when he saw Kaylene walking down the aisle towards him.

A bride and groom kiss on an outdoor wooden platform surrounded by clapping guests and bridesmaids in burgundy dresses, with trees in the background. A split image shows a close-up of their kiss on the right.

The couple wrote their own vows but before that the guests were treated to the incredible story of their first date. I won’t go into the details but it included a helicopter rescue from a mountain!

A bride in a white dress raises her arm joyfully next to the groom as bridesmaids in burgundy dresses and groomsmen in black tuxedos cheer and clap outdoors amid trees.

Yay! They’re married!

A bride and groom share a joyful, close embrace outdoors. The groom smiles with his eyes closed while hugging the bride, who wears a veil with small flowers in her hair. Their happiness is evident in the candid moment.

A lovely private moment after the ceremony.

Some portraits in front of the barn doors. My dad jokes never miss!

Portraits At Helen’s

A bride in a white gown and veil holds hands and smiles with a groom in a black tuxedo. They stand outdoors, surrounded by greenery and autumn trees with vibrant orange and red leaves.

Kaylene and Rafee were hoping for fall color. I happened to be at 7 Springs for another shoot earlier in the week and took some time to scout. My usual favorite spots were pretty bare but the trees by Helen’s Restaurant were holding onto their leaves so we did portraits there.

It’s a great spot.

Grand Entrance To The Reception At Winterberry

Three wedding table setups: a round table with burgundy napkins and a bird sign, a close-up of a seating chart with bird illustrations, and a head table with a “Lovebirds” sign and floral arrangement. A three-panel photo showing: a decorated wedding cake on a table, a dessert table with various sweets and a yellow bridge model, and a bar menu with assorted cocktails on a counter.

Some details from the reception at Winterberry (Lisa’s photos). Note the themes of birds (fellow bird nerds!), mountain climbing and their cats. I just love to see those thoughtful personal touches.

Two black-and-white photos: on the left, a newlywed couple joyfully enters a venue holding hands; on the right, they share a first dance, surrounded by guests and bridesmaids in formal attire. A bride and groom, dressed in formal wedding attire, dance together in a spacious, rustic venue with wooden beams and chandeliers, as guests watch and smile in the background. A groom dips and kisses his bride on the dance floor during their wedding, while guests in formal attire watch and smile in the background. The setting is a rustic, dimly lit venue.

The couple went right into their first dance after entering the reception. I love it so much when the couple does a dip and I’m in the right spot!

A Wonderful Evening Of Music And Dancing

Kaylene and Rafee were treated to an A capella performance during toasts.

Two photos show a bride and groom at their wedding: on the left, they cut a three-tiered cake with mountain designs; on the right, the bride touches cake to the groom’s nose as they smile at each other.

Cutting the cake. Keeping things playful with the icing without getting really messy is a decision nobody regrets 🙂

Three side-by-side photos show groups of people dancing and celebrating at a formal event, dressed in suits and elegant dresses, smiling and enjoying themselves under warm, festive lighting.

The folks at Fireside Events kept the dance floor full for the whole evening.

Those moments when family and friends come together are a big part of what makes a wedding so special. The folks at this wedding live all over the place and so gathering together to celebrate was such a joy. I’m grateful to have been able to document such an important event for Kaylene and Rafee. I’ll share what they wrote to me after receiving their gallery: Wow. Words cannot describe how wonderful and moving these photos are. We are in awe of the quality and content that you and Lisa were able to capture on our special day! We also really appreciated the calming presence you brought to our day — it was wonderful to have that grounding during such a whirlwind event.”
