Fall Wedding at Springwood
Maggie and Andrew’s fall wedding at Springwood was a perfect example of Western Pennsylvania’s most beautiful time. Their day started at St. Anne Church in Castle Shannon before moving on to Springwood. Enjoy the photos!
The stand of bamboo at Springwood was the perfect spot to show off Maggie’s emerald green cape and Andrew’s forest green suit.
Wedding at St. Anne Church
Maggie waited for the ceremony to begin with her mom Theresa and her sisters. They were all so excited!
Maggie and her dad Paul wait in the back of the church before walking down the aisle.
Andrew watched as Maggie and Paul walked down the aisle (Lisa’s photo). I’ve photographed a couple of weddings at St. Anne’s and I absolutely love the interior.
Exchanging rings.
I’ve got a great second photographer. She looks for moments outside of the main action and caught this moment between Theresa and Maggie’s grandmother. Photos like this add dimension to the story of a wedding. It’s what good documentary wedding photography is all about.
The happy couple walks down the aisle together at the end of the ceremony!
Maggie and her bridesmaids share a moment just after the ceremony before the receiving line.
Portraits
This is on the drive outside of the front of the church. The afternoon light was perfect.
It’s my job to find out where the light is best and go there. Sometimes a parking lot is where it’s at and so that’s where we went!
Portraits at Springwood
The sun sets early in the fall so we didn’t have time to waste. We made the most of the rest of the daylight.
I love their color palette! Andrew’s tie is a street map of Chicago, where he grew up. Maggie’s mom made her cape.
Reception at Springwood
Some detail photos from the Springwood atrium, where dinner was served. It’s a wonderful room that extends an outdoor feel beyond the warmer months. The cake was cinnamon rolls with icing and other delicious toppings. So good!
The couple was announced as they made their way down to the patio for a toast with their guests.
Maggie’s dad Paul toasts the couple.
Maggie’s sisters and Andrew’s brother offered toasts of their own.
The couple cuts the cake — thumbs up!
Party Time!
The folks at Springwood have closed in the pavilion with glass walls which make it a perfect spot for dancing. It was a nice spot before they enclosed it but you were at the mercy of the weather. It was a great addition to the space.
Maggie and Andrew share their first dance.
Andrew and his mom were up next.
Then it was Maggie and her dad Paul’s turn. It does not matter whether you’re a US Army general; dancing with your daughter at her wedding is an emotional experience.
Everybody loved to see it.
People had a blast — especially the kids!
I was glad that I was there until the end of the night so I could photograph their last dance. I love moments like this!
One last portrait before it was time to go. I’m so grateful to Maggie and Andrew for having me photograph their fall wedding at Springwood.
I’ve been photographing weddings at Springwood for a long time — here’s an oldie but a goodie.
