Oakmont Country Club Wedding
The historic Oakmont Country Club is one of the most revered golf courses in the world. It’s hosted the U.S. Open more often than any other course — 9 times. It’s also the perfect venue for a classically elegant event. Kristen and Thomas’ Oakmont Country Club wedding was all of that — plus it was fun!
The Bridal Party
Thomas’ guys gave him a little lift before the ceremony.
Look at these guys! Kristen’s scooped back dress and Thomas’ white tuxedo jacket were super-stylish.

…and Thomas with his guys (after they put him back down on the ground).
Kristen poses for a portrait in a private spot off to the side of the clubhouse.
The Ceremony
There was a threat of rain so the ceremony was moved under the canopy on the clubhouse porch. Which turned out to be a wonderful spot for their Oakmont Country Club wedding.
Kristen walks down the aisle with her parents.
The couple elected to wait until the ceremony to see each other. The look on Thomas’ face says everything about his feelings.
There was room behind the officiant so I was able to get some really unique angles on the ceremony. Lisa stayed in the aisle for the opposite angle #teamwork!
With 10 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen I had cover while I was still able to get close for the couple’s reactions without drawing attention to myself.
Kristen had to work to get the ring on Thomas’ finger 😄
The couple filled a heart-shaped vessel during their unity sand ceremony.
Kristen and Thomas share a moment just after the ceremony.
Portraits on the Course
The couple head out from the clubhouse for a portrait session out on the world famous golf course.
We started out on the second hole with the beautiful old tree near the tee box for the third hole behind the couple.
All of the emotion from the ceremony was still with Kristen and Thomas — so happy!
I love this one with the dramatic sky behind them and Oakmont’s tricky high grass off of the fairway.
Reception
We beat the weather and got into the clubhouse in time for another portrait. I left the couple relaxing in a side room with their bridal party and went into the ballroom to get photos of the decor.
The color scheme of pale purple and green was carried through from the flowers to the linens and place settings in a cohesive scheme.
The flower children with their crowns were outside at the cocktail hour. They were so cute that I had to share their portraits.
Kristen and Thomas have been a couple for a long time even though they’re both pretty young. So they did pretty well during the wedding shoe game. But there were a few answers that they didn’t quite match up on 😄
Keeping it (mostly) clean during the cake cutting.
Toasts from the maid of honor and from the best man, Thomas’ brother.
Time to Dance!
The couple’s first dance.
Honestly, these were a couple of really fun parent’s dances!
The dance floor was packed for the rest of the evening!
Kristen and Thomas share a quiet moment on the dance floor at the end of the night. Such a wonderful time at this Oakmont Country Club wedding!
