Sam and Ed’s wedding was the first time I’d ever been to Green Gables near Jennerstown, PA. I was immediately taken by the beauty of the place with it’s mixture of nature and rustic buildings, including the Mountain Playhouse theater. Joining me for this wedding was James Knox, my long-time colleague and friend from my days as a staff photographer for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Besides being a great photographer to work with, James had me in tears laughing all day long:)
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day:
Sam and her maid of honor figure out how to place flowers in her hair:
Ed and the guys got ready in a nearby cabin. Kilts were a great choice for the hot late summer weekend (James’ photo):

Two from me:
Sam and Ed’s readings came from the two books below. You wouldn’t think that a reading from Calvin and Hobbes would be touching and emotional, but it really was:
Next two by James:

We took a walk over by the Mountain Playhouse while the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour:

Each table had its own cake from Oakmont Bakery. Mmmmm:
Toasts:
Ed’s brother had a lengthy speech prepared, but decided to speak off the cuff instead:

It was a warm night with no breeze at all, which made for perfect conditions for this photo by the creek:
