St. Paul Cathedral and Renaissance Hotel Wedding
St. Paul Cathedral and Renaissance Hotel Wedding: Kate and Drew’s wedding was on a beautiful spring day in Pittsburgh – just look at the blue skies in the photo below!
While I’ve done many weddings at The Renaissance Hotel in Pittsburgh, this was my first time photographing a wedding at St. Paul Cathedral. So we got the best of both downtown and Oakland. All of that is great, but what’s really important is the couple and the loved ones around them on their wedding day. This was a very good wedding day in every sense – I truly appreciated Kate and Drew’s kindness and the warm, welcoming attitude of their families and friends.
Getting Ready
Kate had her hair and makeup done in the August Wilson Room. It was open, airy and filled with great light:
Kate got Drew a guitar as a wedding present. Pretty nice!
Kate’s dad Peter gives her a kiss before leaving for the church. He’s such a great guy.
Ceremony at Saint Paul Cathedral
Kate waits in the narthex of the cathedral as the wedding party begins their walk down the aisle. I won an award for this one 🙂
Peter and Kate walk down the aisle as Drew waits by the altar. St. Paul has a spectacular interior.
Drew gets the thumbs up from Peter!
Kids 😆
I saw this a beautiful moment with three generations of women as we got the families together for formal portraits.
Portraits
Photos like this make me happy because they remind me that spring is coming.
Kate and Drew sent me a Christmas card with this photo on it. I love it when couples find different ways to enjoy their photos!
I don’t know who suggested it, but it seemed like a good idea for the girls to pick Drew up. Drew’s a lot heavier than he looks!
Reception at The Renaissance
A couple of my favorite detail shots from the day.

Cake cutting.
Drew totally deserved it!
Next up was the bouquet and garter toss. Drew really took his job seriously!
The ladies really wanted that bouquet!
Dan was a dancing machine that night!
Kate and her sister Alexis on the dance floor.
It got kind of steamy with all of that dancing going on!
Peter shows off his break dancing skills!
What a great St. Paul Cathedral and Renaissance Hotel wedding. Thanks folks!
I also had the great honor of photographing Kate’s sister Alexis’ wedding to Dan. I was so happy that I got to spend more time with these folks!
