Armstrong Farms Wedding
Lisa and R.J. had an ideal Western PA fall afternoon for their Armstrong Farms wedding. Seriously, an outdoor ceremony in the middle of November ?!?
They’ve already got a wonderful family started with themselves and their son Jordan, so the marriage ceremony fittingly had all three of them standing in front of assembled friends and family. It was very, very sweet.
I love Armstrong Farms. Kathy & John Allen are two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Lisa and R.J.’s wedding took place at the Fieldstone barn, which was the first time I’d been to that particular venue. It’s a wonderful layout – the building is climate-controlled and completely modernized even though it was built in the mid-1800’s.
Getting Ready
Lisa had her makeup done at her parent’s house.
Lisa’s dad Jan (left) has a great sense of humor. He had all of us cracking up.
Jordan loves paper airplanes. We had a good time flying them around the house.
Lisa’s mom Darlene is very sweet.
Jordan checks out his mom’s headwear.
Lots of doggies were around that day. Jan and Darlene’s chocolate Lab, Indy (top), one of the Allen’s Corgi’s (bottom left) and Lisa and R.J.’s American Bulldog puppy.

R.J. talks with his dad, Jeff. Poor R.J. was feeling ill all morning and afternoon, but he toughed it out like the Marine he is.

An Outdoor Ceremony

Lisa was overcome with emotion as she said her vows. It was a beautiful moment.
With the ceremony complete, Lisa, R.J. and Jordan turn to face their guests (Caroline’s photo).
The sun was setting as they walked out hand-in-hand.
Jordan cracks me up!
Details
Next are some detail shots. Let me just take this opportunity to mention that Lisa’s grandma makes unbelievably tasty pizzelles. She sent me home with a bag full of them. I did my best to make them last, but ate them all in a couple of days.
Reception
The cake cutting. With the look in R.J.’s eyes in the photo at left, everybody knew what was coming next (including Lisa).
First dance.

All day long, Jan and Lisa were worried about crying during their dance together. Jan had a plan to prevent it – sunglasses.
But it didn’t work 😭
R.J. and his mom, Kym.
Everyone had a great time dancing.
